Latest on Lawnswood
The latest weekly update on Lawnswood roundabout below, plus a couple of pics - one aerial of the work on site, and one a simplified 'landscaping drawing' showing where there will be planting once it's done - including a large London Plane tree in the centre of the roundabout. This drawing is designed specifically to show planting, rather than e.g. the pedestrian crossing arrangements. P.s. it was great to attend the West Park Residents Association AGM last night where a long

New litter bin locations
The best way to prevent litter at 'hotspots' is to have an easily available bin. You always get some people who don't bother, but most will. We have 30 new dog and litter bins coming to Weetwood . Thanks so much to everyone who has contacted us with ideas for locations. This is the first batch, there are more to come so don't panic if a key location is missing!! But do let us know if you're especially keen on a location. View the map here This is a fantastic initiative from t

Progress towards a new skate park
Beckett Park is an absolute gem. The local volunteers who help make it so with their time and imagination are fantastic. One sub-group of those volunteers has been working on an exciting plan to re-build the Beckett Park skate park, which is... not what it should be. We very much support the project and have secured substantial funding to make it possible. It'll go nicely with the refurbished tennis courts! Their vision for it is exciting, it could become a really significant

Pothole news
The Yorkshire Evening Post is reporting on progress we've made to increase the rate of pothole repairs in Leeds . But there's plenty more to do. In recent days we've been chasing reports ranging from the Laiths to the Spennithornes to Cottage Road.

Stopping Yorkshire Stone theft
We know how frustrating Yorkshire paving stone theft can be, so that’s why we’re trialling new forensic DNA marking technology, SelectaDNA, to help tackle the theft of Yorkshire stone paving here in Leeds. This system uses invisible DNA markers and microdots that can identify where stolen stone came from using UV light and microscopes, helping police trace and recover materials. Clear warning signs are also being installed to deter thieves. In other areas of the UK, this has

If you're in that area please do fill in our quick survey . And a big thank you to everyone who has done so already.
