Lawnswood roundabout update

We're on the home straight now, but there will be more disruption in the final weeks. We are meeting multiple times per month with the contractors, so if you have questions or issues we can raise them.


The latest:


"In area 9C (outside Weetwood Hall) we have made good progress with the drainage works. Subject to final inspection, backfilling should take place soon. See below image taken in July of this area.



In phase 4 (outside Lawnswood School) lighting works are ongoing, together with surfacing works. Aerial picture below.



In Phase 7 (by the Police station / sub-station) the footway binder course is almost complete. Lighting columns and feeder pillar installations are ongoing.


In phase 6 kerbing works are ongoing. Aerial picture from July below.



Upcoming night works – reminder

Quadrant works

Starting next week, the overnight closures will begin for the quadrant works, commencing Monday 3 August. Residents within the closure points will receive further communication this week with details about access / egress during the works.

Final surfacing works

From Tuesday 1 September the roundabout will be completely closed for final surfacing works. This is scheduled to last 4 nights, plus a 36 hour closure the following weekend (Saturday 5th). Details will be confirmed to residents directly by the roundabout nearer to the time.


Diversion routes

Signed diversions will be in place when sections are closed, and for the full closure in September."
