Here's the latest update on the Lawnswood roundabout project. The final surfacing is now taking place. However, to do this requires full closures over several nights - 7pm to 6am. The nights are Wednesday the 2nd, Thursday 3rd, and Friday the 4th of September. Finally, there will be a 36hr closure from Saturday night to Monday morning. As previously advised, traffic marshals will be in situ at the head of each closure area to facilitate residents / businesses to leave / enter

On Saturday 19 September , St Chads Church will be hosting a Heritage Community Event. The event is being held to celebrate the heritage of St Chad’s Church and raise funds to complete the essential repairs to the church spire. Th event will take place from 12-4pm. We‘ve had a few enquiries about the retrospective planning application which was submitted by Taylor’s Sports Bar and its progress. We asked planning officers for an update and have been advised that a revised plan has been received by the council. Last weekend, the amazingly talented Garden Recovery team cut back the path/ginnel which runs from Moor Road through to Moor Park Mount and the Donkey Steps that lead down to the Hollins and Meanwood Park. The path has been overgrown for a long time, and the team were quick to volunteer to clear it, so its now accessible for trips to Meanwood Park throughout the summer holidays! The Council needs to carry out essential resurfacing works at Meanwood Household Waste Recycling Centre (HWRC). This will involve filling a number of potholes across the site, in both the public and operational areas. To allow the work to be completed and the tarmac to fully set, the site will be closed for one day on Thursday 13th August.
