The summer holidays are are here and that means Breeze in the Park is back! Tinshill Top Breeze is taking place on Tuesday 25 August from 12-4pm. However there are lots of other Breeze events taking place around the city and details of some more local events included below. The sun is out, the inflatables are ready-see you there!

We have encountered an issue with a live gas main in this location; this was charted as disconnected. We are reviewing our installation with a view to alleviating any delays this challenge may cause, however the lane closure may need to be extended. Sunday saw the first event at the newly resurfaced skate park in Becketts Park. As Weetwood ward councillors, we have helped to fund the resurfacing - and its open in time for the summer holidays. On Sunday we saw the first event - a meet up of skateboarders, roller skaters and Road Block sound system providing the music! Saturday saw Weetwood Blaze girls football team end of seasons presentations! The girls have played an amazing season and very rightly deserved their medals 🏅 ! There are 3 teams-under 12, under 10 and under 9-and it was an honour to be able to present the medals to all 3. The top goal scorer from the 3 teams scored an amazing 58 goals throughout the season! The club prides itself on inclusivity, teamwork and respect for each other and the girls definitely live their values.

Monday 13 July saw the 400th anniversary of Leeds receiving the Royal Charter from King Charles 1 - and the weekend saw lots of celebrations! As the student changeover period approaches we’re working closely with the council and universities to help keep our neighbourhoods clean and safe. The key change over dates are Tuesday 30th June and Wednesday 1st July, but the council's intensive cleaning activity has already started. In phase 4 (outside Lawnswood School) we are continuing with kerbing, and lighting columns are also being installed in this area. The redundant gas installations have been removed so works can continue. In Phase 7 (by the Police station / sub-station) tree roots
