On Saturday 19 September , St Chads Church will be hosting a Heritage Community Event. The event is being held to celebrate the heritage of St Chad’s Church and raise funds to complete the essential repairs to the church spire. Th event will take place from 12-4pm. The church will also be open 2-4pm on Sunday 20 September for bell tower visits as part of the national Heritage Open Day weekend.

We‘ve had a few enquiries about the retrospective planning application which was submitted by Taylor’s Sports Bar and its progress. Last weekend, the amazingly talented Garden Recovery team cut back the path/ginnel which runs from Moor Road through to Moor Park Mount and the Donkey Steps that lead down to the Hollins and Meanwood Park. The path has been overgrown for a long time, and the team were quick to volunteer to clear it, so its now accessible for trips to Meanwood Park throughout the summer holidays! The Council needs to carry out essential resurfacing works at Meanwood Household Waste Recycling Centre (HWRC). This will involve filling a number of potholes across the site, in both the public and operational areas. We're on the home straight now, but there will be more disruption in the final weeks. We are meeting multiple times per month with the contractors, so if you have questions or issues we can raise them. The latest: "In area 9C (outside Weetwood Hall) we have made good progress with the drainage works. Subject to final inspection, backfilling should take place soon.
