Latest Lawnswood & speeding update
Here's the latest update from Eric Wright, the contractors working on Lawnswood roundabout. As usual, if you're experiencing problems let us know. Also, we have raised concerns about speeding in some neighbouring roads - you may see the rubber encased wires across roads monitoring traffic and speed levels: "Last week we completed the surfacing works around the roundabout centre. Yorkshire Water have inspected the manhole, this is progressing well. Our sub-contractors Civcon h

The next set of community meetings we do with the police are next week. Come along to discuss and hear about what the police are doing to tackle local crime. We always attend these when we can but please note we can't attend on Wednesday as it clashes with a full meeting of Leeds City Councillors. Info on the ginnel closure from Woodhouse Ridge to Cumberland Road
This is not in our ward but is very well used by lots of Weetwood residents so we thought we'd share the latest. For those who don't know; there's an excellent route from Woodhouse Ridge to Hyde Park corner that saves walkers a lot of time. However, the segment from the ridge to Cumberland Road is currently blocked. That's because the wall has become unsafe. The wall is privately owned and the owners are trying to solve this as soon as they can. We can't give more specific ti

Latest on the airport
In very short, Leeds Bradford Airport (LBA) are now applying to alter their existing planning conditions to a 'noise quota' system whereby they could have more of the quieter flights at night. We don't yet have the application itself - it's coming in November - so the below information is based on what the airport have shared with us in a briefing. We have a lot of questions about this! And we're sure you do too. To reiterate our role; while councillors cannot control the pla

Bus stop layout on Headingley Lane
We've raised the concerns that we and residents have had about the arrangement of the bus stop on Headingley Lane in particular. Although not in our ward it is used by lots of our constituents. Equally, many of our constituents use this cycle lane and don't want to feel that they are coming into conflict with people getting the bus! For those who don't know, some of the bus stops where the road and pavement narrows require bus users to cross the cycle lane to get onto the bus
