Our submission - new ‘Catch’ premises application

As shared previously, there is an application for an Indian gastropub at 9 Weetwood Lane - the old Catch/Bryan’s.

This is what we put forward for the proposed premises there in 2024 (see our article at the time) and while that fell through for unrelated reasons, we think the same conditions are totally reasonable and will ensure the new premises can thrive and be a valued part of our community, so here’s what we suggest - let us know what you think:

  • They will not be allowed to serve Otley Runners in fancy dress

  • It is a condition that the premises must be food-led

  • No advertisement of drinks-only offers (e.g. "2-for-1 cocktails")

  • The outdoor area won't be used past 10pm

  • To harmonise the opening hours with other nearby restaurants (00:30 on a week day seems significantly later than other premises)

  • Noise must not be audible to the nearest residence (Orchard Court) after 11pm - with a specified dba level

  • They will carry out twice daily inspections/collections of any litter around the premises - again this is a condition of their licence

  • They will open their car park for parents to use freely (with a waiting limit) to help with school drop off / pick up at Weetwood Primary

Application in the 'Catch' premises

This licence application is in our ward! The old 'Catch' premises at the top of Weetwood Lane. It's by Soho Tavern, who seem to run Indian gastropub premises in a few other parts of northern England.
