This licence application is in our ward! The old 'Catch' premises at the top of Weetwood Lane.
It's by Soho Tavern, who seem to run Indian gastropub premises in a few other parts of northern England. We have only just received this application so as with the Tesco licence application we haven't yet written our submission - we'll share our next week. As with others, our priority will simply be ensuring there is not a negative contribution to the Otley Run.
We certainly want the premises to be used, and it's great that new independent businesses are attracted to our area.
You're welcome to share your thoughts with us. The deadline for submissions is 17th February.
We will also be writing to residents in the direct area of the premises about this, to ensure everyone has a chance to participate.
The application is linked to below. The licensing team have already made some light inquiries, here are the details of those sent to us by the officer: "I did query the timings and off sales with the agent and he came back to me with the following:
The following was received regarding the timings ‘With regards to the timings, this is primarily a restaurant, as are the bulk of my clients other venues, while they may not ordinarily open beyond certain hours, the premises are all licensed beyond the opening hours, which allows for flexibility to cater for possible special family occasions as landmark birthday, small wedding etc’.
The following was received regarding off sales ‘The reason for On and Off Sales is simply to allow for the possibility of a customer who may have ordered a bottle of wine with a meal and not finished it to take it home with them.’"
