Weetwood Labour Councillors - here to help!
Emma, Izaak, and Jools - your local councillors
We all live in the ward and will do our very best to make this an even better place to live.
Our job is to help you with local issues and make sure the needs of people in Weetwood are represented on the council.
We spend most of our time finding solutions to long running issues like road safety, the cost of living, and anti-social behaviour.

Local priorities
Cost of living support
Food pantries, community meals, debt advice, business support...
Better local transport
Safer roads, more ways to get around, bringing buses into public control...
A safer Otley Run
Tackling public urination and anti social behaviour, making Headingley family friendly...
Active in the community
Food bank collections
We run a monthly food bank collection from the doorsteps of local volunteers.
This is now the biggest source of donations to the Trussell Trust food bank for North and West Leeds.
Local campaigns
We work with volunteers across the ward to campaign for positive change.
With a General Election coming up there will be even more to do. We always have fun, and we get things done!
Labour across Leeds
Despite £2.5billion cut from our budget since 2010, here are some of the things our Labour run city council is able to achieve for the whole of Leeds, thanks to your support.
Housing for all
We have a guarantee of accommodation so no one has to sleep rough. Leeds is in the top 10% of the country for new council homes built.
Green investment
Since 2019 we've reduced our carbon emissions 40% and aim for net zero by 2030. We're putting solar panels and insulation in public buildings and have new rules so developers do the same.
Putting children first
We've prioritised children in our budget, keeping all children's centres open. The only city to get two Ofsted ‘Outstanding’ ratings in a row for our Children's Services.
Better transport options
Working with the Mayor we have a £2 bus fare cap which has led to more passengers, more pedestrian crossings, safer cycle lanes, and now an electric bike hire scheme for the area.
Real Living Wage
We pay the Real Living Wage, and use our influence to persuade major local employers to do the same including for carers.
Clean neighbourhoods
We've made bulky waste collections free to reduce fly tipping, and set up a new serious environmental crime team to prosecute those who do litter and fly tip.
Who we are
Thanks to you voting Labour our area has, for the first time ever, three councillors who all live in the ward. We also have a hard working local MP in Alex Sobel. Here's a bit more about us.
