Next steps for Weetwood

We thought we'd round up what our next steps are for the ward, following the election result (thanks again!)
Road safety
We have proposed new locations for pedestrian crossings and are getting these assessed
We have a number of roads where we've asked for more speeding enforcement, and are arranging for mobile speed camera vans
Parks and green spaces
Work on the new Beckett Park skate park has already started!
The new Friends of Clayton Wood group we helped set up is achieving lots already, and we have the first litter pick on Sunday - do join us!
We're confirming dates and details for the extra investment in new playground equipment for Silk Mill Playground plus wild flowers and signage boards for West Park Fields
Otley Run
We recently summarised next steps on making the Otley Run safer. We have our next cross-agency meeting about this next week.
Potholes and road resurfacing
A few of the worst roads are getting fully resurfaced now which is really good news and something we've been pushing for. We've made a point of meeting with the teams who do the work and learning all we can from them on the job, so we can take that learning back to the city council.
Buses and better transport
We've been campaigning for better local bus services and we will be meeting Mayor Tracy Brabin with the evidence we've collected, ensuring the new Weaver Network being brought in next year is as good as it can be.
We're looking at improvements we can make to traffic flow on the A660, and safety at key pinch points.
Active, visible in the community
We'll keep you updated on this weekly email newsletter and through Facebook on key topics like the Weetwood Police Station redevelopment, Lawnswood roundabout, local crime and events.
Plus we're already planning to attend brilliant local events like the Friends of Beckett Park summer picnic, Moor Road clean air day, Weetwood Wine Walk, Ireland Wood fun days at St Paul's, and community events at the Welcome In Community Centre. Aware of any local events we could promote and support? Just let us know!
