Pedestrian crossings update

Here's a map of the new/upgraded pedestrian crossings we've had agreed or we're asking Highways to look at.

Here's the list but do take a look at the map:

Committed

• New Grove Lane crossing

• Upgrade to existing Grove Lane crossing

• Beacons to be fixed at Spen Lane crossing (near Co-op)

• Pedestrian island at Bentley Lane / Meanwood Road

To be assessed

Many of these relate to regular school crossings routes. One of Izaak's key pledges is to make it safer to cross busy roads that children use (or would use!) to get to school.

• Multiple locations on Tinshill Road

• Tinshill Lane / Tinshill Crescent

• New location on Monkbridge Road

• By Holy Name school, Otley Old Road

• Moor Road

• Spen Road near Lawnswood school

• A crossing near the Shaw Lane /Grove Lane junction

• St Chads Drive - multiple locations

• Pedestrian island near St Chads Church on Otley Road

• A crossing near the Oak Park estate on Silk Mill Way
