Golden Beam: Otley Run application refused

As you may know, the Golden Beam (Wetherspoons) applied for a variation to their premises licence to allow them to let in Otley Run groups.

We opposed this application, you can find our shared objection with Headingley Labour Councillors and Alex Sobel MP here.

Today the Licensing Sub-Committee heard all the arguments and unanimously decided to reject the application. We do not have the full decision write-up yet, but we can say that this decision builds on the policy work we have done over the last couple of years to (a) get formal recognition that the Otley Run is a problem that deserves extra focus and (b) recognise its cumulative impact in our official Licensing policy.
