We've been told there will be essential road resurfacing works on Spen Lane, West Park at its junction with Butcher Hill, evening works only planned to start on 16th February for 3 days.
The layout of this junction and traffic movements means the council has no alternative but to close both these roads at the mini roundabout to carry out works safely and efficiently.
To keep disruption to a minimum these works will be carried out in the evenings between 19:00 – 00:00, with the closure only in place during these times. Any noisy activities are planned to cease by 23:00. The signed diversion will be via Spen Lane – Ring Road – Low Lane – Butcher Hill and vice versa.
Advanced notice boards will be placed on site 1-2 weeks prior to works and affected properties will receive direct communication via post.
Buses will still have access via Old Oak Drive, Old Farm Approach and Latchmere Drive, this will be for the service operators to navigate.
These works, on a key route for many, have been planned wholly around the needs of the travelling public and neighbouring properties in the best possible way so as to limit disruption whilst delivering this road scheme as part of our commitment to maintaining and improving the highway network.
This has been circulated to other public/emergency services as well.
