Lawnswood roundabout update

Here's the latest from the Lawnswood roundabout project. We've been dealing with some queries and issues from local residents - if you have any problems do feel free to get in touch.

"We are pleased to confirm that the final night of surfacing works took place yesterday 21.09.26 and were completed by 6am 22.09.2026.

This marks the end of an important phase of the scheme, and we would like to thank everyone for their patience and cooperation during this time.

Day works continue to take place across multiple site areas.

In phase 3 we are finishing installation of the tegulas, and completing final kerbing works, along with traffic signal ducting works.

In phase 4 we are also finishing tegula installation, alongside footpath and cycleway works.

In phases 6 & 7 we are completing white lining.

In phase 5b we are completing ducting works.

In phase 8 final surfacing works are taking place, and in phase 9c we are making gulley connections and completing white lining works.

Signalisation of the roundabout

We understand that visually there is not substantial evidence of the final signalisation of the roundabout, which is of course a major part of the scheme. During the coming week, we will start installing the signal poles, so the final layout will start to become more evident. At the end of this month, contractors will pull the cables through, and after this the signal heads and related equipment will be installed, with the final commissioning and testing scheduled for around the 3rd week of October.
