Lawnswood drop in questions

We attended the drop in with Eric Wright - the contractor running the Lawnswood work - and asked questions gathered from subscribers to our WhatsApp local news alerts.

Here are some of the questions and answers:

Are they on schedule? So far, yes. There has been some pressure from unexpected findings underground but it remains on schedule. They have committed to letting us know as soon as possible if there are any slips to the timetable, which we'll share.

Some people are merging lanes too early, causing a longer than necessary tailback. Can signs go up to advise people to merge in turn? They are looking into this and will get back to us.

Can they hold an evening drop in? Yes they can, we've said we'll gather interest so if you'd like to meet the contractor but only evenings work for you please let us know (and when you're usually free).

There has been more speeding and rat running on Wynford Avenue. What can we do about it? We're going to work with the police, council highways team, and the contractor to put in more speeding enforcement and to put in a temporary safety camera.
