Info on the ginnel closure from Woodhouse Ridge to Cumberland Road

This is not in our ward but is very well used by lots of Weetwood residents so we thought we'd share the latest.

For those who don't know; there's an excellent route from Woodhouse Ridge to Hyde Park corner that saves walkers a lot of time. However, the segment from the ridge to Cumberland Road is currently blocked. That's because the wall has become unsafe.

The wall is privately owned and the owners are trying to solve this as soon as they can. We can't give more specific timescales, but it will be re-opened and it is ultimately designated highway.

In the meantime, the Highways team have agreed to put signage up to warn people ahead of time that the route is blocked. It can be a bit annoying to get all the way up there to find you have to take a longer route!

And in the meantime, here's a picture of Headingley and Hyde Park councillors Jonathan and Abdul cutting back the overgrown foliage in another segment of the same walking route!
