Green light on pothole repair

Leeds is one of very few councils given the highest 'Green' rating. This is not a moment of self-congratulation, don't worry! Ultimately it's the state of our own local roads that matter to us, not how they compare to other places. But what this does tell us is that the council uses the money it has effectively.
The problem is that historically we have been under-funded. However, the government is changing its funding formulas for local government and this is enabling us to now invest more into road repair - an extra £13m per year.
Our role as councillors is to make sure the Highways team knows where to focus its efforts. If you're worried about the state of your road then let us know, and we'll do what we can. We can get individual potholes fixed and advocate for a full road resurfacing.
