UPDATE: The road should be open as usual by end of Friday.
This morning we've been communicating about the diversions and road closures resulting from a burst water main in Meanwood.
We've been sharing information as we get it on our WhatsApp news group for urgent and important information - you can join it here.

Information from Yorkshire Water - including on the reports of 'brown' tap water:
"As outlined by colleagues from LCC, this is a burst water main, which is on an 8" main. Repair work was raised this morning, as the highest priority. As such teams were on site by 08.30, identifying the damaged section of pipe.
Teams now believe the damaged section is in the second lane of the carriageway and as such the traffic management is being reconfigured to a road closure so to ensure everyone's safety. Please see a map of the traffic management and diversion, attached. I appreciate the traffic management will be inconvenient and we apologise to everyone impacted.
I believe the discolouration will be because of the burst causing what is known as scouring. Normally, running the tap for 30 seconds to a minute will clear this. You can find more information on our website here. "
