A660 work - keeping up to date

We have found regular updates from the team doing Lawnswood roundabout to be very useful, so we asked the Highways team to do the same for the broader A660 work from Shaw Lane down to St Marks Road.

Here's an update we received today. We hope it's useful:

Please find below the latest update regarding ongoing construction works along the A660 corridor, including Otley Road, Headingley Lane, and Woodhouse Lane. These works will be taking place over the next two weeks across Sections 1, 2, and 5.

Sections 1&2 – A660 Otley Road and Headingley Lane from Shaw Lane to Richmond Avenue

• Surfacing works will start from 2^nd November 2025 on the cycle tracks on both sides of A660

• Works will continue outside of Headingley Central (Arndale Centre)

• The paving will be completed on a large section of St. Michaels Road which will allow the area to be substantially opened up in anticipation of Remembrance Sunday services

• Works continue in the Spring Bank Crescent area to complete the cycle track kerbing and repaving

Section 5 – Hyde Park Corner 

• Tree pits installed at the junction of Woodhouse Street

• We will begin kerbing works in the area in anticipation of repaving the old footway, and creating a new, large community area

• Works continue at the corner of Hyde Park Road and A660 to complete traffic signals and pedestrian crossing upgrades
