This is the long-empty site at 300 Otley Road, which is to become residential flats.

As you can imagine, there is a lot of detail! You can really get into the detail of it by taking a look at the documentation on the council Planning site here.

Search: 22/06370/FU or even just 'Weetwood Police Station' and you'll find it.

Despite the name, the site is actually not in our ward. But we'll keep you up to date as the development progresses.

So what next? Well, there's a lot still to do before development starts. They need to finalise a Construction Plan and get that agreed. They need to finalise some designs, such as the designs of the solar panels to go on the building.

We'll keep you updated as we say, including going through all of the documentation as it becomes available and sharing that in the most transparent and readable format - most people won't have time to read the 138 documents and counting!

Plus we hope to get a relationship with the developers to allow quick fixes if any issues arrive, and perhaps even site tours etc. while the development happens.

The finalisation of planning permission here had been dependent on a ‘section 106’ agreement which is the agreement for how the developer will contribute to the local area.

It includes green space on site available to the public, funding to be used to improve other green space in the area, a car club spot, funding for local transport improvements, and provision of a ‘travel plan’ for the residents which will include support with taking up bus and cycle travel - the exact details of this are still to be finalised.
