You may have seen the news that Moorlands School is due to close in December.

We have written to residents in the Foxhills neighbourhood where it is located to offer our support and time with any concerns or ideas for the sites future. Please do contact us likewise.

We’re having a meeting with the school and with our local MP Alex Sobel. Alex is also meeting with some of the parents.

The school has stated its reasons for closure, although a Moorlands School Action Group has written to cast some doubt on this and expressed some very serious concerns about the process ‘MIST’ have followed. We’ve shared a copy of their letter below. So our priority now is to make sure the businesses, staff and pupils affected are supported first and foremost - and to figure out what the future of the site could best be.

The letter from the action group, shared as an image but please let us know if you’d like a PDF version:

Given the above, once we have met with the school and found out it all we can about the matter we’ll update you.
