Access to Silk Mill Woods from Silk Mill Gardens

Lots of people have raised the clearance of trees and then blocked access to the woods from Silk Mill Gardens.


The site itself is in Horsforth ward so we've been working with the Horsforth Labour Councillors since last week. Big thanks to them, and to all members of the community who've contacted authorities.


Here's the latest update:


  • Access will be restored for the public

  • Together we have contacted Planning Enforcement, Network Rail, Public Rights of Way Team, and the Forestry Commission

  • A priority for us is stopping further damage to the woodland

  • We're speaking to the biodiversity team too

  • The site is privately owned. We were not alerted to any of this. Very frustrating.
