We join regular meetings with the police and residents, one for 'north of the ring road' - Cookridge, Ireland Wood, Lawnswood - and one for south including West Park, Far Headingley, and Meanwood.

Here are the updates for each. If you have any questions just let us know!

North Ring Road:

Notes from Councillor Izaak Wilson

Tuesday 7th April, Welcome In Community Centre, 7-8pm

From 24 Feb STATS:

- 0 burglaries

- 0 shed and garage breakdowns

- X1 theft from vehicle

- X4 theft of vehicles

- X3 criminal damages

- Spen Lane ASB update: x1 police incident since last time. Patrols have happened too, no crimes witnessed, and residents on Spen Lane spoken to by PCSO Reuben and they will stay on the issue

- A couple of nuisance / abandoned vehicles have been removed

Otley Old Road crash a couple of months back - it was a medical incident rather than a result of speeding

ISSUES RAISED:

An issue of intimidating behaviour in the Wynfords was discussed which Councillor Jools Heselwood has been working with residents on

Some conversation about fires in the woods. If you see one please report it to police and fire. If they’re actively setting fire call 999

We asked for more patrols on Iveson Approach, Iveson Rise, Luttrells

We talked about illegal off-road bike use: we’re holding a public meeting on this with MPs to talk about what we need to change nationally to tackle this

We raised roads with a speeding issue, including but not limited to:

IVESON RISE

PARKSTONE GROVE AND AVENUE

SILK MILL WAY

RAYNEL DRIVE

TINSHILL ROAD

TINSHILL LANE

Priorities for next few weeks:

- ASB in Luttrells / Ivesons and around Wynfords

- Speeding enforcement

Next meeting: Tuesday 19th May, same time and place

South Ring Road:

St Chads Parish Centre, Wednesday 8 April

Notes from Councillor Izaak Wilson

7-8pm

From 24 Feb STATS:

- X1 burglary ring road

- X3 attempted burglaries

- X7 shed and garage burglaries

- X7 theft from motor vehicles

- X1 theft of vehicles

- X6 interference of vehicles

- X5 criminal damage

The police chase and crash at St Chads Primary School has led to one arrest of the driver and then multiple arrests this led to

ISSUES RAISED:

- We raised a number of roads that need more speeding enforcement including but not limited to Batcliffe to Weetwood Lane / Glen Road to Arncliffe, West Park and Spen

- Some concerning incidents in the Monk Bridges were discussed and we asked both for more patrols and home security advice to be shared with residents in that area

- A woman who someone had tried to steal her bag in the shop told her story. A key point is that if this happens it’s very useful to speak to the shop security and the police - our PCSO responded same day

Priorities for next few weeks:

- Monkbridges area

- Speeding enforcement

Next meeting: Wednesday 20th May, same time and place
