The Repair Cafe is back  at Meanwood Community Centre, Stainbeck Ave, LS7 2QU, this Saturday, 14 February from 1 - 4pm.

Izaak will be going along with his broken rucksack!

As ever, if you're bringing an item for repair, it would be useful for the repairers to know some details. You can do this by making a post in the Repair Cafe Network Facebook Group but also you could just email: meanwoodrepaircafe@gmail.com

A few guidelines on bringing stuff to be repaired:

1. Wash clothes if possible before bringing. No pants!

2. Empty drip trays, crumb trays etc, so we don't make a mess - we may not fix items if they are dirty or full of water / grease

3. If you're bringing hi-fi equipment, bring a CD, record, speaker, headphones etc. to test it with.

4. Phones and tablets: if you want the device opening up (eg.for screen or battery replacement) we would strongly suggest paying a professional to do it. We rarely have time to do these fiddly repairs, and don't have replacement parts to hand.

5. Our insurance policy states we cannot attempt to repair "white goods", including air fryers, dishwashers, water coolers, air conditioners, microwaves, ice makers, water heaters, fan heaters and pressure cookers. Apologies for the inconvenience.

Thanks you as always to the Repair Cafe volunteers for providing this invaluable service-it’s always better to repair than buy new!
