Here's the latest from the contractors, including details of upcoming night and weekend working:

"This week work has temporarily paused in the roundabout centre (area 2) while we concentrated on area 1 (outside Weetwood Hall). In this area we have completed the gulley connections and installed kerbs.

In area 9 on the southbound leg of the A660 Otley Road, we have carried out CBR testing

(California Bearing Ratio testing), and laid type 1 stone, which is compacted to provide a base for tarmac sub layer. We have excavated for the kerbing in the new bus layby. The Lawnswood School bus stop will move to its new position (heading towards Leeds city centre) on the 12th February.

Upcoming works

Night Working – From Monday 16/02/26 (for 2 weeks) – Yorkshire Water

Starting 16.02.2026, Yorkshire Water will be installing a new pipe across the ring road from the old police station towards Weetwood Hall hotel. Works will be carried out days and nights in order to minimise the impact. This work will be Mondays to Fridays, starting at 8pm and completing by 5am. Any works which create significant noise will be completed by 10pm. After this excavation works will continue, however these are not expected to create significant noise in addition to normal traffic flows.

Weekend Working – 14th / 15th February PENDING CONFIRMATION – Traffic Management

We need to alter the road alignment on the roundabout in order to open up new working areas, this means taking off some of the existing road markings and repositioning them. This is scheduled to be done at the next available weekend, when weather conditions allow. We will endeavour to issue advance notification but may be unable to do so as it is possible we may need to take advantage of favourable weather at late notice. This work will involve lane closures managed via our traffic management team and is estimated to take approximately 6 hours to complete."
